DJ / Producer
Paulo Leite began his career as a DJ in 1982, performing in the best
clubs along the Cascais line, Boogie Woogie, Palm Beach, KWA, Coconuts among
others.
He was also a resident DJ in some of Lisbon's best clubs,
respectively, Plateau, Gartejo, Trumps, Alcântara-Mar and Queens.
At this time he was also part of one of the largest DJ and event agencies
at national level, X–Club, as well as, was invited to perform in the best
national clubs (mainland and islands), such as: Kremlin, Pacha, Império
Romano, Frágil, Kadoc, Locomia, Hacienda Klub, among many others.
He was also able to share the cabin with big names in the Dance plan
Music Nacional: DJ Vibe, Luis Leite, Jiggy, XL-Garcia, Mário Roque, A. Paul,
Frank Maurel, Carlos Manaça, Pete That Zouk, Miss Sheila, Kult of Krameria, Di
PauL, Peter G, Nuno Cacho…, as well as international DJs
respectively, Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Roger Sanchez, Eric Powell, DJ
Sneak, Eric Morillo, Eric Morel, Eric Powell, Trevor Rocklife, John Creamer,
Sandy Rivera, David Morales, Phats and Small, Lexicon Avenue, DJ Chus.
In terms of national events he participated in: X-Club presents The Ultimate
Cream Tour 96 (Figueira da Foz), X-Club presents New Year’s Eve Party 96
(Alcobaça), X-Club 2ND Anniversary - Neptunus 97 (Algarve), Expo 98, Exponor
98, Prestíge – Classic House Session (Alcântara-Mar), Lusidance – Portuguese
annual festival of dance music, Paradise Dream 2001, Remember Alcântara Mar Sessions several times at Club Vintage Lx, as well as at
Gossip, and also at Club Santa Eulália, Spies Beach Party, Lust, Chic...
At international events he performed in Johannesburg at the Flyhouse Club
(Beat the Christmas Rush 99 - South Africa), in A Coruña in Joislava with the
Leite Night Sessions project, in Valladolid at Radiola Club, in Madrid at
Marula Café in Geneva at Famhouse Connection and Lookal Ocean Club in
Luanda Angola.
In terms of projects, he is one of the elements of the Leite Night Sessions project (Luis
Leite vs Paulo Leite), of which a CD with the same name was released, and with
broadcast of the DJ Sets on one of the best radio stations in Lisbon at the time, MIX
FM, as well as performances in the best clubs nationwide (continent and
Islands). At the production level he participates in projects such as: Shuffle
Progression with Fernando Campos, from which an album of originals was published
on a CD called Travelling, in the project called T.T.S., with the artist himself
Fernando Campos and Daveed, in the South Coast project with producer Juce, and
also in the Pure & Clear project with producer House Worker, collaborating
with other DJ’s/Producers in occasional productions.
With the various projects, he edited several songs on several Portuguese labels and
international, respectively: Universal Music Portugal, Farol, Som Livre,
Tanira Recordings, Minar Records, Mix Store Records, Loop 128 Records, Kaos
Records, Cool Beat Records, Goldbrain Records, Stereo Productions, Fatal
Music, Afroboogie Recordings, System Recordings, Azucar Records, South
American House, Fire Beat Records, Filthy Groovin Records, Tronic B7
Records, Karmic Power Records, among others.
